I recommend this product
got this as a replacement for my late 80s road bike as its original one had its Bering cage fall apart. it is an incredibly good head set i have never used a headset so smooth even on my modern MTB and trekking bike would highly recommend even if your bike has a working one if you need an upgrade

I recommend this product
ConsRelatively low stack height, not sure if this is actually a "con"...
ProsHigh quality, low price for what you get
You can't fault the quality. Virtually every high end custom frame builder used to fit these as standard back in the day...

Constricky to fit without bearing press.
Prosprice, looks
This looks good on my old school steel frame, steering is very smooth for the first time I can remember.

I recommend this product
Consshort stack height
Prosprice, quality
Good quality 1" threaded headset makes this an inexpensive alternative to a vintage Record headset for a retro build. Satin finish and short stack height reminiscent of an old 105 headset. May need to add spacers or shorten steerer column, otherwise good fit and bearings run smoothly.

Replacement for OMAS 1"x24
19 May 2020
Hi I unfortunately have to replace an OMAS 1"x24 Headset as the bottom cup is cracked and the bearings are pretty shot. Will this 24920 headset work? Thanks, James
Should do provided you have English threads, I beleive the Omas was 40mm stack height so you may need to add some Headset Spacer - 1 Inch - Alloy - Silver (SJS Cycles part number : 22313) RT
I have raleigh jeep 1975 will part no. 24920 fit this bike
09 Nov 2019
I have the following measurements
Head tube O.D. 34.10mm
I. D. 30.005mm
Top of fork
Thread 25.47mm
If 24920 not suitable can you suggest replacement. I do not have one to use as pattern. Thank you A. Smreczak
No it won't as you have identified older Raleighs had 26 threads per inch instead of 24. For a BODGE you could use a M:Part Sport 1 Inch Threadless Headset - Black (SJS Cycles part number : 33143) with a Humpert 22.2mm Quill or 1 Inch Fork Adapter to 1 Inch or 1 1/8 Inch Stem - Silver (SJS Cycles part number : 48425) and an ahead stem and some spacers, OR you could buy a scrap Raleigh bike and steal just the headset. Cheers R
