Details
All purpose MTB sealed bearing rear cassette Disc hub. Light enough for Cross Country, rigid enough for Freeride, buff enough for DH.

The Spin Doctor rear disc hub uses a bolt-on ball bearing cassette body with an integrated 3 pawl engagement drive. This places the 2 main hub sealed bearings on the outside of the hub (beyond the cassette body), providing superior axle support. The "outboard bearing" construction reduces axle flex and thus reduces bearing wear. When bolted together, the cassette and hub body becomes a strong, integrated unit, with 2 sealed cartridge main hub bearings and integrated Freehub looseball bearings.

Sweeping shell styling and minimalist type International Disc mounts provide a beautiful looking, strong, light, rear MTB hub.

Features:
- 6061 Alloy CNC machined shell
- International 6 bolt Disc Mounts
- Lightweight knurled alloy non-slip drop-out faces
- Bolt-on ball bearing integrated cassette body system
- Durable "outboard" sealed cartridge bearings
- M10 x 185 mm nutted solid axle (to suit 135mm O.L.N.)

Weight:
- 473g

Flange Tech:
- C-L 34 mm F58 mm
- C-R 19 mm F58 mm

Does the 48H version have an aluminium or steel Freehub body?
By
09 Nov 2023
Hi, I'm considering the 48 hole solid axle Spin Doctor hub as a replacement rear hub for a Yuba Kombi that's survived around 3 years of kid-trucking.

I'd be worried about premature freehub wear with the HG splines on an aluminium freehub hence I'm wondering about the freehub material (and if there are replacement options).
This hub uses a steel freehub. SK 10/11/23

Is there a quick release version of the Halo Spin Doctor 48 hole hub available? The product code matches the QR version on the Halo website?
Hello & thank you for your enquiry.
This cassette hub is only available as Solid Axle in the 48 drilling.
Hope this assists.
Kind regard, PC 31/5/23.

Replacement tandem hub?
By
15 May 2020
My old 135mm OLN, 8 speed, rim braked Quando rear hub is on it's last legs (11 years, about 8000 miles).
Do you think this would be a suitable replacement? I realise there are tandem specific hubs available but we are not the heaviest team in the World and this Halo hub is substantially cheaper
You can use non tandem specific hubs, but these simply are not designed quite with a tandem in mind.

This is a great option providing you have a 48h rim etc.

Is this hub suitable for a cargo bike - 500lbs total Rider passenger cargo.
By

I have a yuba mundo style cargo bike (it has 14mm rear axles.) It needs a new wheel after 3yrs of heavy use up steep hills. I was thinking this hub, 14mm axeman adapters, and halo sas 48h 36mm rim.
Is the hub serviceable? Or if the hub fails I am only left with paying a wheel builder to rebuild another wheel with new hub.
I am looking to build a bomb proof rear wheel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With a bike + weight, regular use and hills 3 years is not bad in our book, the extreme end of wheel strength is needed!

I cannot think of a better option that this, the hubs bearings can be replaced, and the freehub body too.

11sp cassette compatibility
By

Will an 11sp cassette (Shimano fit on the Freehub body of this hub and if not, is there an 11sp compatable free hub body that can be fitted to this hub?
A road 11 speed will not, a MTB 11 speed will fit.

Can this have its axle respaced?
By
28 Aug 2018
Hello

I'd like a very strong wheel for a bike that was designed for a 130oln 7 speed hub.

Is there any possibility of removing spacers from this to make it fit?

Failing that, have you got any strong 130oln hubs suitable for loaded touring?
Hi there,

This would be unable to be re spaced.

We have many options and would recommend contacting the sales team directly.

Thanks
Can The Freehub Be Swapped Out Or Upgraded To A 10 Spd Freehub
By

Looking to purchase for a custom bike
Hi,

8, 9 and 10spd cassettes all actually fit to the same size of freehub body so you do not need to change or upgrade anything to be able to use a 10spd cassette with this hub.

Thanks.
Front Hub Too

I am very happy with my rear wheel using this hub. Is it possible to get hold of a front hub (48H) for a wheel build. Thanks
Hi,

It is not an item we currently stock but are able to order them in for you. Please email [email protected] for full availability, cost and lead times.

Thanks.

i am confused! the length of the solid axle is 135 mm, what dropout space does this hub fit? can a 7 speed shimano cassette fit this hub? can the freehub be overhauled or must it be replaced?
Hi,

The overall length of the axle is actually 185mm, the dropout spacing it is designed for is 135mm. A 7spd cassette can be used but it will require a spacer to sit onto the freehub first, these are SJSC part number: 3888. There is a grease port to allow greasing of the internals of the freehub but it is a pretty solid unit so it won't be easy to dismantle and re-assemble for servicing.

Thanks.
