ProsGreat when it worked
I bought one of these 10 months ago to replace a Shimano Nexus dyno hub (dynamo great, roller brake rubbish). Initially I was impressed as the braking was far more effective than the Nexus but it was also uneven (eventually cured by dismantling and cleaning the drum surface). More recently the brake has started to bind. Last week on a below freezing morning I went to use the bike and found the wheels stiff. After giving it a wiggle and setting off I discovered the dynamo no longer worked. I guess the inside iced up and tore a wire off although I was unable to open it to find out.

Other reviews of this hub are usually favourable (if you don't mind the weight) so possibly I was just unlucky. Nonetheless I would not buy another.

Consheavier, removing wheel takes longer
Prosno rim wear, quiet, good braking in all weathers, clean
This is a great unit, and I've been using it for about 4 years and that means the wheel rims have not been worn in that time.
The Unit is a very quiet dynamo, quiet braking in all weathers.
I do have one problem I had to find a circlip for my forks as the clip provided looks like it goes on a childs bike.
If you just want a dynamo this is worth getting for the price, just remove the brake shoes and lever arm.

Would this be suitable for use with an Ice QNT trike?

I already have drum brakes, but would like to add a dynamo hub.
Yes this will be suitable, however will require a full wheel rebuild. Please consult ICE as they will be able to best advise.
Hi, what spoke length would I need to lace this to a 700c rim?

Hi, more detail is need to advise on spoke lengths, e.g. make of rim and spoke pattern. You are probably best off contacting our sales team [email protected] or 01278 441500. Thanks 20.6.19
