Easy Practical Valve On A Brand-Name Tube

ConsNone.
ProsEffective. Removable core.
Fitted to my Dutch city bikes. With hub gears, hub brakes and enclosed chain, taking the wheels off to fix a flat by the side of the road is no fun. With the Dunlop/Woods valve, the valve core can be removed by hand, and a sealant put in the tube to allow it to be reinflated and you go on your way again.
Some people perceive the Dunlop/Woods valve a "inferior" for some reason. Many cycling enthusiasts would never consider anything other than a Presta valve. But each of these holds the air in the tube just as well as the others (and try finding a Presta valve with a removable core to get sealant in the tube when you have a flat !).

ConsNo DIY rubber bit in valve, needs a Schrader sized hole in the rim
ProsNostalgic feel
Fitted to my wife's old Raleigh. Never liked Schrader valves and not a fan of Presta valves after I burst a pump adapter at the Calshot Activities Centre cycle track back in my youth (I didn't know at the time that you had to undo the twiddly bit at the top :-). But the new woods valves don't have the rubber tube that makes for easy repair so they're more for nostalgic reasons than for DIY fiddlage and tinkering unfortunately.

What's the difference between this & the Schwalbe DV19 Woods Tube version please?

What's the difference between this & the Schwalbe DV19 Woods Tube version please? https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/inner-tubes/schwalbe-dv19-woods-tube-2628700c-tyres-57584-40622-to-62622-40635/?geoc=BE I see that is slightly heavier (why?) pros cons of each please.
The tubes fit a mix of tyre sizes at either extreme so one is slightly wider, simply select the tube with the correct size. SK 23/01/24
