The SON rear light is of minimalistic and robust design as well as noble looks. Many customers have been looking for a rear light like this for a long time. Now also sportive bicycles that don‘t come with rear racks can be equipped with dynamo-powered rear lights thanks to versions for seatpost mount and mudguard mount. They fit technically ideally and are of good looks just as well.

- Integrated standlight capacitor

Standard cable length sufficient for Raven Twin Mk II??
By Aleman
14 Oct 2020
I want to use this with a Son Edelux II Front Light mounted to the fork crown of my size 5 Raven Twin Mk II. Can I get away with just using the standard cable length (196cm??), Or should I consider buying and extra meter of the coax cable and a Son CoAx connector set (42743) ... For what it's worth the distance from the rack to the fork crown measures approximately 180cm ... leaving just 16cm for cable routing..
If I had a Raven Twin with S&S then the answer would be a no brainer ... use the connector set, but if I can get away without making an extra connection I would prefer it.
Thanks
Tony

SJS Customer Service:
Hello, so we would suggest using string to get an idea of how long in total the cable will need to be to go from your front light to rear mount, fixing the string to the bike to replicate the way you wish to route the coax cable. Measure this length of string and minus 190cm. then add half a meter to the sum. This should give you a figure for the length of coax needed plus a bit extra in case you need some room when fitting it.

Would I need any other wire than the one included in this set to connect this back lamp to a son wheel with edelux 2 ?
Does it fit a Bompton with rack ? Without rack ?

SJS Customer Service:
Hi there,
You will need a slightly different mount as the brompton rack does not have two holes for this to be attached, but otherwise yes this should go straight on.
Thanks

Does This Light Have Over Voltage Protection?
By Tim

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
As the rear lights piggy back off of the front lights they don't have any over voltage protection as the front light has over voltage protection and prevents any excess reaching the rear light at all.
Thanks.

What Is The Length Of The Supplied Cable?
By Gustav Birkeland

I'm mounting the light on a long cargo bike. How long is the supplied cable? Can it be extended, and if so do you sel an extension kit?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
The cable is 196cm in length. There is no extension kit, but you can extend it be splicing another cable to it and covering the connection in shrink wrap.
Thanks.
