From the Carradice Originals range the Nelson Longflap saddlebag is made from 100% waterproof 18oz Cotton Duck & is available in two colours. Due to its versatility the Nelson has become one of the most popular saddlebags within the Originals range as it can be used for long rides with an overnight stay but can still be used when commuting to work. The buckles & fastenings are all metal whilst the straps are made from chromed leather, which means they keep their strength & looks no matter what weather & conditions they face. All Carradice Originals bags come with a lifetime guarantee against defective materials & workmanship.

it's a great bag, I had the Cadet version previously, and they are perfect for my use and for my Brompton (no need to remove it when folding).
only glitch is that the stud of one of the buckles broke off immediately. I had to replace it with a nut and bolt.

Prosflexible, waterproof, durable

A replacement for one worn out after 25 years. Design improved by better closure. Looks as if it will last the next 25 years. A must have for daily touring or commuting but works best with a Brooks saddle which has appropriate loops.

ProsFunctional, waterproof, strong, easily repaired

This is my second Carradice saddlebag after I mysteriously managed to loose the first! I used the orginal one daily for 20 years+ and it remains the best means of carrying medium sized loads. It's highly functional, waterproof and able to withstand hard sustained usage.

ProsConvenient place for spare tubes, bike tools and wet weather gear.

This is the 5th Nelson Longflap saddle bag that I have purchased since 1980. For me it is an absolutely indispensable item of kit for my bikes.
The design has evolved and improved over the years and I do like the draw string facility now included under the flap.Long may Carradice carry on!

I am delighted with the bag. In Hindsight, I would have bought a larger QR bagman support, the sport is too short. The bag is fantastic and has done several long day rides already through rain and has stayed true and waterproof! Definitely a lifetime purchase!
