Born out of the successful Carradice Bike Bureau, the City Folder has been developed specifically for the Brompton rider. The originals Cotton Duck model features: Two generous rear pockets, removable padded laptop pouch (measures 38 x 24 x 6cms) accepts laptops up to 17in, with pockets for mobile phone etc, carry handle on lid, detachable shoulder strap, Scotchlite reflectors on lid and sides, rigid base for freestanding when off the bike, 25 litre capacity (inc pockets), fits the Brompton front carrier (not supplied)

Dimensions: H33cms x W40 x D13.5cms 25 litre capacity, weight: 1894g.

Requires Brompton Front Carrier Block & Brompton Front Carrier Frame for fitting to bikes. Please note that this bag is not suitable for Brompton S-Type bikes.

Hmm. Great bag but a couple of big flaws

I love Carradice products and I like this bag. It is however flawed. Firstly, the lid closure straps are way too loose so won’t fully close the lid. I had to remove the existing rivets, shorten the straps and then rerivet them. Secondly the rear pockets are not big enough for a water bottle. Given they are Brompton specific bags , and Bromptons do not have any locations to install bottle cages, I’m sure many, like me, use their bags to carry water. It’s almost as if no one at Carradice has tried to
use this product. I remain a Carradice fan but am a frustrated one!

the bag is so much better than the Brompton version - being waterproof and more rigid. quick release strap is welcomed. rear and front pockets are very convenient

This multipurpose bag is a great solution to carrying things on your Brompton. While it is designed as a briefcase, it is large enough to serve as a general carryall for the occasional small load of groceries or clothing for an overnight trip. Multiple pockets add convenience and it is very easy to mount/dismount on the bike. The build is superb and signed for by each maker (thank you, Emma and Sue of Carradice for your cut/sew work on my bag!) This looks like a better value than the Brompton branded bags and I recommend it.

Prosstylish, roomy and super well made

Such a great bag! I'm a fan of Carradice anyway and have one of their saddlebags which was just a little impractical for the Brompton commute. Hence buying this. Its super easy to get on and off the bike to get on the train, and looks so stylish on the bike. If its anything like the saddlebag then it'll last forever and the duck cotton is great at repelling water.

Hi,

your description informs this to be a 'M front bag' - is this medium?

My Bike has the 'carrier block' (your part nbr 644) - is there any other requirement?

The 'M' in the title just refers to the type of bag, not the sizing of it. To be able to mount on to the luggage block you will need part #647.

Does a 15" compact laptop (Macbook pro) fits inside this bag ?

The pouch measures 38 x 24 x 6cms, using some basic maths suggest the diagonal will be 17.6in so your 15in laptop should fit fine
