Decent quality BUT

ConsFront fitting issue.

The front fitting that attaches to the forks is not long enough, which meant that the front mudguard could not be fitted at all - even cutting a bit off the mudguard at the sides to move it further up failed. Other makes have longer fittings. This is a major disadvantage.

Look good. Hard to configure.

ConsHard to install with current screwset.

ProsLooks and rain protection (previous set)

Look great, but difficult to mount. The mounting bolts (M5 x L10) are too long and rub against the tyre wall — should be L6mm in length. Also having real problems mounting my Continental GatorHardshell Road Tyre 700c 25c tyres without them grating against the mudguard wall. Could you advise?

The actual external width of these is 36mm and not 40mm.

Hi.

Do you have spare fixings for these mudguards. I only need the parts that fix the eyelets as I have lost them? The part that goes on the end of the stays.

Hi, unfortunately Dia-Compe don't do spare fitting kits for their mudguards. If you are looking for draw bolts it might be worth trying our SKS mudguard spares. Thanks.

the picture appears to show stays with no possible adjustment,
is this correct ?

Hi,

The stays can be adjusted, the picture is misleading they can be cut to whatever length you require them to be. The un-cut stays are 360mm in length.

Would These Work With 27 By 1 1/4 Inch Tyres?

I have a got a nice fifty year old English steel frame that I want to build up for a practical commuter cycle to run beside my 1984 Carlton, which will become my bike for fun riding once I get the commuter going.

I want to fit mudguards and preserve the original wheel size of 1 1/4 by 27, and have really good mudguards ...

Yes, these mudguards would fit over 27 x 1 1/4 tyres, it would be a tighter fit than with 700c tyres but you should be fine.
