Great pedals but need DIY bearing fix

I recommend this product
Cons1 ball bearing too few in crank-end cup. Fine if you add it yourself!
ProsQuality, decent screw-on covers, accept toe straps
As overs have noticed, bearings are not smooth. Reason is there is 1 ball bearing too few in the crank end cup. If you add the missing bearing yourself the bearings are silky smooth. No problems after 5 years after making this fix.

ConsSurprised by bearings not being as smooth as I would expect out the box
ProsLight, good aero, vibration free, relatively cheap
Wanted some retro looking double sided pedals for my single speed city bike. These fitted the bill and I have been using MKS pedals on one bike or the other for 50 years.

Only concern is that bearings feel a bit "grindy" compared with the MKS Urban Platforms that they replaced that are super smooth whilst a cheaper Pedal.Hopefully they will run in.

ProsPrice, looks, quality
Bought to go on an early eighties tourer. Classically styled, high shine, smooth running and surprisingly light. They look the part and are performing well. Slightly more forgiving to the shins than the old steel ones, but not much! Can be fitted/removed with either 15mm slim spanner or 6mm Allen key.

Consa bit chunky compared to my old steel pedals
Prosseem solid and well made
Bought for a vintage style bike I have had for more than 30 years, these look OK. The toe clips went on fine, and I added pedal reflectors too. They feel a little more slipery than my steel pedals.
