The Urban Platform is designed for use with MKS toe-clips or half clips, so when fitted the pedal will always fall at the angle required for easy foot engagement when setting off.

A quick nudge of the accentuated pedal-flip and your foot is in the toe-clip - simple!

This is based on the classic Lyotard Marcel Berthet No. 23 pedals from the early 20th Centuary.

I had got cheaper pedals for another bike, not too impressed. I got these MKS for my Reynolds 531 bike, and was extremely pleased by the quality.

ProsMore comfortable than quill pedals

I've always used quill pedals with toe clips for the various rides requiring toe clips. The last new bike I bought had toe clips as standard and although the pedals 'looked the part' they have only lasted a few hundred miles before squeaking and requiring constant attention. I decided to buy a set of platform pedals and these are excellent. Well made and lovely and smooth.

Easier to use with toe clips and straps than quill pedals because of pedal balance and large tounge.

Prosflat, solid build

Flat platform is compatible with any shoes. Sealed bearings are nice too.
Weight 300g. Finish quality is not top. They should not cost more than Sylvan Tracks.

Hi,
I see online there are photos of two versions of these pedals, one has a silver alloy outer cap over the axle and the other has a cheaper black plastic cap. Could you confirm these are the former as is (just about) visible in the photo.

Will These Take A Toe Strap, I Can'T See Any Slots For One
