ConsDoes not work to any realistic extent and is very fragile.
ProsLight weight, bright look.
This pump is cheap and light weight but does not work. The rubber washer does not seal on my modern presta valves with a long external threads, no matter how hard the plastic compression ring is tightened. I got some air to go though by reversing the washer into Schrader mode and using an adapter but it is not capable of putting in a working pressure. The plastic end section is very fragile. I broke off one of the horns just trying it out. The non-return valve is crude and easy to get out of place. It might work a bit better without this valve and with the Schrader presser replaced with a stack of washers. It would then be Dunlop or presta only as it would need the non-return feature of those valve types.
Functional, bargain frame fitting pump.

I recommend this product
ConsNo lockout.
ProsCosts a fiver, good classic looking pump.
There are better performing pumps available, but for a fiver this one will inflate my tyres just fine when needed ( I rarely get flats anyway. )

Size & performance

Hello
I would like to ask if this pump would fit a 45cm distance frame (from top pump plug to bb&downtube junction), it usually needs a pump of about 46-48cm length, so compressed measures the desired 45cm and fits tight. Not sure if the 41-45cm detailed length is extended or compressed.
Also, curious about how well does it perform for inflating touring bike with 700x32c at 5 bars. I know Silca Impero are top shelf quality, but seeing it at a fiver makes me wonder if it does actually work ok or if it's more intended as decorative being such great looker and maybe just as an emergency use.
Thanks for your kind attention.
41-45 is the range the pump will securely fit into a frame, the pump offers exceptional performance and reliability at all pressures. SK 11/12/25
Which Pump For My Thorn Raven?
By
05 Jun 2015
i have lost the one you supplied. I have the largest frame size. I would like a replacement which will fit both Schrader and Presta.
Thanks,
Jo
Hi,

On your Raven Tour we would have originally fitted a Size 1 pump which has a range of 35CM-41CM which would mean that the closest replacement in these Silca pumps would be the Medium.

Thanks.
