CNC?

Hello there, could you explain the difference between the standard and the CNC machined version of this rim? Does it serve a purpose?

SJS Customer Service:

The CNC version is orientated more towards a rim brake set up, it will provide a more consistent braking surface from the start, the non CNC will require the coating to be worn off before effective braking power can be achieved. SK 29/06/23

Tubeless?

Could these be set up tubeless, with the correct tape fitted?

Even with the correct tape we do not recommend these are set up tubeless, the rim profile is not tubeless compatible. SK 14/03/23

Please define 'sport touring' and 'all mountain'

Trying to get a sense of what these rims can do... looking for a rear wheel I can use for light bikepacking (I'm 70KGs and will carry perhaps 20-30KGs) on 50/50 paved and unmade roads.

SJS Customer Service:

Sport touring is riding with a loaded bike on good to moderate terrain- ie tarmac and canal paths. All-mountain rims are designed for more abuse on a pure off-road environment. For bikepacking these rims will be ideal.

Checking specs on your 650B V-Brake rims...

You have 4 different 650B V-Brake rims with 32H. It looks like they boil down to two versions in either black or silver.
The non machined sidewall in black or silver
The machined sidewall in black or silver.
Is that correct?

SJS Customer Service:

All 4 Thorn 650B rims are suitable for disc or V brakes, they are either polished or anodised black. Then you have the machined sidewall options.
