Medium weight, high end touring rim with CSS.

Ultra hard wearing Carbide Super Sonic brake surface, allowing fantastic braking and wear characteristics. The carbide is projected at seven times the speed of sound on to the rim embedding it into the alloy. Unlike a ceramic surface it cannot flake away as it is part of the rim (not a layer). Single eyeletted cross country or touring rim.

The ONLY recommended brake blocks are Swissstop C.S.S. Blue V-Brake blocks (SJSC Part # 32142).

Is It The Strongest Rim Available?
By

I need a strong rim for heavy loaded touring in off road conditions (read corrugations, rocks and sand). I want the strongest rim available as I don't want to crack it never again. Do you think this rim with 48h will fit the job?
Hi,

Although the Grizzly rim with the CSS sidewall will be the longest lasting rim in terms of sidewall wear its not going to be the strongest rim on pure strength, it is probably a close second in the 700c size though. The much heavier Sputnik rim from Rigida is actually a stronger rim, this rim isn't available with the CSS coating though so will wear out under braking quicker.

Thanks.
