Ergotec Hook Evolution Seat Post - Black - 400mm

I purchased this seatpost solely for it's aesthetic appeal, moving aside the Syntace P6 that is normally used with this particular bike. I am always impressed with Ergotec products and should be with this, BUT ! The cradle that holds the rails and controls pitch is splined and can only be described as brutish. The abrupt variation of pitch that it engenders make the seatpost almost useless. I have visited the Ergotec site and they also fail to mention it is splined. It's such a shame that this beautifull seatpost has turned out this way. So annoyed by it am I, that I have decided to write a letter to Ergotec about it. How Ergotec thought to themselves that the splines were acceptable is beyond me. I would not be able to recommend this seatpost at all. Such a shame.

I recently switched a Humpert hi-rise stem onto my touring bike and wanted a matching seat post. SJS always stock Humpert items and this cut-away design looked perfect. It's light and looks a bit different to your usual seat pillar. Nice clamp too.
