Designed specifically with the rigors of e-bikes and daily commuting in mind, the new Thudbuster ST includes 50mm of travel to significantly diminish shocks and impacts from broken pavement, cobblestones or any other mixed surfaces

ProsGood build quality, adjustability

Only just started to use it, but it seems to work well and is well made. I’d read reviews about the complex seat clamp and yes it is not well thought out, too many moving parts and opportunity to move or loosen, especially given that by its nature it will meet with some heavy use! Cane Creek you really need to look at why 99% of other seat posts use the same method. It is good that you can vary the damping with different inserts (mine came with three, although it isn’t clearly stated). Overall it’s good but could be better.

ProsLooks to be well constructed

This as been fitted to our Thorn tandem, i had issues seating the rail’s a Brooks B17 saddle into the Seatpost clamp, following manufacturers instructions and Nm setting there is some play at the clamp end , the set up has not been tested yet so hopefully when stoker is aboard the assembly will bed in .

ProsIt works

Fitted one of these to a new electric bike which was quite uncomfortable and it has made a noticeable improvement. I am sharing this bike with my daughter so the scale marked on the seat post is useful for setting our different saddle heights. I have fitted an extra soft elastomer as my daughter is very light and there is no noticeable bob when I ride. I would recommend this seat post.

ProsReduces the sharpness of bumps.

This really works. Takes the sharpness out of bumps, but is still stiff enough to pedal efficiently. I'm 68kg and use the medium elastomer. I ride for pleasure and value comfort over speed - so this product suits me well. Reduces saddle-soreness on a 6-hour ride. I have a long-travel one on my mountain bike and this short-travel on the adventure bike - you need to check that you have room for it to fit. The LT version with soft/medium elastomers is luxury comfy, but bouncy.

ProsReally smooths bumps.

This really works to make cycling more comfortable. I use it on a gravel/touring bike. Its quite heavy but I really like the increase in comfort. Im male, 68 kg. Old, no speed freak, I ride slow, but go far.
