I bought this clamp bolt because I liked the look of it , and the price . I thought it would come in useful for a bike restoration where weight was not an issue . The quality is good and I doubt it would ever brake .

It's a monster part, not sure what they thought the world was going to throw at a seat post in the 90s, but this could handle it.
It is M8 so measure twice and it is heavy.

Perfect solution for a vintage road frame restored as a cross type offroader. Takes the cable hanger for the cantilever brakes as well.

ProsSaved my bike
This saved my bike. It's an old road frame., unknown vintage, probably French, with the old 24mm diameter seat post, and the notches for a traditional seat post bolt are nicely rounded off, so this is fundamentally the only option. And it works. Thanks, SJS!
