Adjusting Impossible...

Satisfied with the product in every other way but the adjusting part... The screws just won't budge, I've already broken two tools trying to get the stem in desired angle. The part underneath the stem comes off easily enough but the screws on the "joint" are like they were glued shut. Maybe I've got one that has some faulty manufacturing and others work just fine, but mine isn't adjustable.
