ProsQuality, cost, appearance.
I was looking for a Ahead Stem that had an identical rise to my original Quill Stem, this suited perfectly. I am very pleased with the quality of this stem.

Please could you advise on standard stem length for a Surly LHT

Hi SJS, Im interested in putting this on my new Surly LHT frame. Do you know what the standard length is used on a 58cm fame?

From what i have seen on Surlys website, the stock Long Haul Trucker uses a +/- 6, 100mm stem.
Hi there, does the clamp diameter of 25.4 apply at the stem or handlebar clamp?

25.4mm refers to the handlebar clamp, the steerer tube is 1.1/8th.

The length is indeed measured from the centre of the handlebar clamp to the centre of the fork steerer tube fitting.

Please could you advise the recommended torque settings for the Kalloy AS009 UNO 1 1/8" Ahead Stem +17 Deg 25.4mm Clamp Black as fitted to a Thorn Raven

There is no recommended torque value given for these stems, but when we fit them we normally tighten the bolts to around 5nm.
