Adjustable Quill Stem Into Threadless Headset.

I have a threadless headset on my machine to which I would like to attach an adjustable stem. I thought that the above might serve. I have planned to tension my headset using an expandable plug. Clamp it and then remove the plug to enable me to insert the quill stem as above. Is this a suitable course of action or could you suggest another way. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This will not work I'm afraid, as you have a threadless steerer you need to fit an Ahead style stem that clamps onto the forks. The equivalent Ahead style stem to this Quill stem is SJSC part number 39294.
