Refurbing a mid ‘80s Dawes Kingpin, I needed a long handlebar stem. 300mm stems seem not to be abundant so choice is limited. But Humpert are a renowned maker, their products are well made, strong and this is no exception. In fact I bought two. One for my bullhorn bars and one for my moustache bars. It is easier to swap complete taped bars with brake levers fitted than to have to fiddle with components and at £21.99 each, it didn’t seem much of an extravagance.
SJS for me are the go-to cycle store, with their large stock of items that are maybe more difficult to find elsewhere. Good service too.

Following my previous order for 4 of these stems to replace old alloy quill stems on our derny pacing motors, I ordered a further 2 stems to complete the upgrade on 6 Simon derny's owned by the Reading Track League club. Delivery, cost and quality remains excellent. They are very rigid and strong and have a very long quill that inspires confidence. No hesitation to recommend these and SJS as the supplier.

We bought 3 of these stems to replace old alloy quill stems fitted to Simon Pacing Cerny's at Reading Palmer Park Velodrome. The original stems are probably over 20 years old we bought the MTB stems for safety. The quality is excellent and they are very rigid unlike many other alternatives. The product, order confirmation and shipping was excellent from SJS, apart from DHL taking 5 days to deliver on a paid for next day service.
