Fits nice and snugly to most hollowtech BBs I've tried it on, unlikely to marr any softer aluminium ones either.

The notch and size seem correct but is there enough clearance for the non-removable thru-axle on an Alfine hub?

We would suggest using a spanner type tool if used on an Afline hub: SJS part 13322 would be your best option.
