I recommend this product
ConsChrome bike with red touches so the blue Panaracer label looks out of place. Not a real issue
ProsGood value and quality build
Fitted to Mavic Module E 27 1 1/4 rims for my 68/69 Carlton Giro D’Italia rebuild. Tyres went on with little effort and appear to be beaded in well under the rim. Recommend the wire beaded for older clincher rims over the foldable version. Look the part and on short test run they roll well too.

I recommend this product
Consexpensive. tread pattern looks current rather than retro
Prosgum wall retro look - very good quality tyre - lightweight
the 27 x 1 1/4 version of this tyre is quite wide when fitted and suits a touring or city bike application. the 27 x 1 tyre will fit several makes of 27 x 1 1/4 rims and gives a great look to a 60's 70's classic road frame with limited clearance between the chain stays. they also look correct when using shorty mudguards or the ESGE narrow mudguards popular in the 70's and 80's

I have a restored 60s/70s race bike with sprints for 10TTs

I want to use clinchers for Eroica and have had a pair of 271/4 Rigida/Campag Tipo wheels built. Conti 32mm gatorskins are too fat for the fork clearance (max 32-35 at the BB end)/ The Rigidas are 7/8 (23mm) wide. The bike has campag vertical drop-outs so fixed movement fore and aft. Will the panasela racers fit? If not any other options? Regs
Hi, without having your bike here to perform a test fit we cannot guarantee the clearances.

I'm restoring a 50s bike with 27-inch (630mm) rims. The rims don't have hooks like modern rims. Is it safe to use tyres such as the Panaracer Pasela with a non-hooked rim? If not, what would you recommend?
Hi there,

It's hard to say, unfortunately. I'm afraid its going to be a case of trial and error. You may need to reduce the pressure in the tyre to reduce the risk of it blowing off.

Panaracer Pasela PT 27 x 1 1/4 or Panaracer Pasela Tour Guard 27 x 1 1/8

Which would you recommend please for a retro build - 1) 1978 which currently has Schwalbe Active 27 x 1 1/4 tyres fitted and 2) a new build with 27 “ Campy Rims (wouldn’t mind 1”) . I believe both are hooked rims. Require 2 each possibly 4 Any disc for 2 or 4 please. Many thanks Phil

yes, both are hooked rims. We would recommend the Panaracer Pasela PT 27 x 1 1/4 as the Panaracer Pasela Tour Guard 27 x 1 1/8 are more delicate and are likely to puncture if riding off-road.
Do you have inner tubes for these tyres?
08 Feb 2018
I'm looking for 23x630 tyres for a bike I built in 1975. I can't find 23mm tyres anywhere, so I'd like to order the 25x630 Panaracers, but I need inner-tubes, and these are as difficult to find as the tyres. Can you help me here?
Hi there,

These will be suitable - SJS Cycles part number : 44184
