This is a replacement rear wheel with Brompton / Sturmey Archer 3 standard ratio hub gear.

For 3 speed bikes.

Hub accepts a single sprocket most commonly 13tooth.

Sprocket

Hi there I just wanted to ask about the sprocket which you have said commonly it’s 13 tooth now can I replace it with maybe 11 tooth if possible?

Hi there,

technically, yes you could, but doubt you would find a suitable sprocket under 12t.

You would be more beneficial to increase the chainring size as the greater number of teeth on chainring/sprocket the slower the system wears out.

Is this suitable for use in 2018 frames? I´m currently running singlespeed but want to convert to three speed. also could i use the SA thumb shifter instead of the brompton integrated one?

Yes this will fit all ages / models of Brompton.

Yes the SL30 shifter will be suitable.

I need to replace my existing wheel but it has 1 1/8 chain. Will this take a 1 1/8 13t sprocket?

Hi there,

Yes this will take such a sprocket, but we generally recommend converting to 3/32nd.
SJS Cycles part number : 13767 - this will take a 1/8th or 3/32 chain, or you can use 22340 with only 1/8th.

Moulton bicycles use different wheel sizes to these so I think you would have a number of issues in getting this wheel to work.
