This outer chainring can only be used with Shimano FC-RS200 8 speed double chainsets with a 50-34T set up.

If the correct outer chainring is unavailable you can also use the chainring from the following chainset:

- Shimano Claris FC-2450

This is a "B" match which indicates that the parts are usable, but differ in materials, appearance, finish & size etc.

Is This Chainring Suitable For A 9 Speed Cassette, Single Chainring Set Up?

Hi,

Although this chainring is designed for use as an outer ring on a double set up in, theory there is nothing stopping you using this as the only ring. You may have an issue with chain retention though as it will not have the front derailleur helping to hold it in place.
