ProsStylish looks, lower gearing.
I am the owner of a Genesis Croix de Fer which is a great 'do it all ' bike. It is such a veratile machine, great for gravel, long day rides and touring. However I found it undergeared with the stock 50/34 chainset. Replacing this with the GRX 46/30 has transformed the bike making all climbs comfortable. Equally the 46/11 still provides a more than adequate top gear. I would even consider the GRX chainset on lighter bikes if you ride multi day endurance events. I do not know if it isabsolutely essential but I chose to match tye upgrade witgh a GRX front mech. It is more fiddly to fit than a conventonal mech but workd superbly.

Does the shimano GRX FC RX600 10x2 46t 30t 172.5mm crankset come with a left hand crank arm or does that need to be purchased separately?
