I recommend this product
Bought as a replacement for the damaged original spec derailleur on my wife's Specialized Crossroads hybrid. Fitted easily and quickly, worked fine straight away with just a few simple adjustments as detailed on the enclosed instruction sheet. Shifting now slick and accurate, just as it was when the bike was new.

Replacement for sram dd3 40T

Would this work to replace a broken Shimano SRAM DD3 derailleur. Running 11-40T rear cassette please?
Shimano recommend a max 34t Sprocket for this derailleur, so would not be suitable sorry

It is a direct mount, rapid rise 7 speed from a hybrid bike. Thank you!
I would use the Shimano Acera RD-M360 Megarange Smart Cage 8 Speed Rear Derailleur - Black (SJS Cycles part number : 44850) which will run fine with 7s shimano shifter and cassette RT
Good rear mech for 7 speed shimano rapidfire with megarange 14 to 34

Will this work as a replacement to an 8 speed RSX?

The bike has non-indexed (friction) downtube shifters - I would like to know if this is a compatible as a replacement (8 speed) to the 00's vintage RSX mech.

The original rear gear was Shimano Acera RD-M340 from 10 years ago.
As long as the two are both 8 speed, yes this will work.
