ConsAs long as you follow install sheets on line, no problems
ProsCost effective replacement
As previous reviewer stated saved the cost of a whole new shifter. Easy to install and loads of videos and worksheets on line.
You might need the E ring removal tool if you're a basic mechanic and that's not included in the pack.
There are two covers that you need to remove from the old unit to install on the new one, so be careful not to throw anything away till you've don't the change and it's all working correctly

ConsNeed Tool A for easy E ring removal and replacement.
ProsStraight forward replacement. Saved cost of complete new shifter.
Replaced identical part on grandson's bike. Take care though, as 4700 Tiagra changed the amount of cable pull per shift and is not compatible with all 10 speed rear mechs, I believe. Needed Tool A, but did not use Tool B when replacing the shifter.
