This single chainring can also be used on the following chainsets:

- Shimano Alfine FC-S501
- Shimano Alfine FC-S400

Do you stock the stronglight black 39t chainring for
bromptons?
Hi there,

This chainring should fit fine as the BCD is the same. You would need a chainring that has a 5 arm spider and a BCD of 130mm. Unfortunately we do not sell any black Stronglight chainrings in that size im afraid.

I have a Shimano Alfine FC-S500 130mm BCD 5 Bolt with 50/42 chainrings currently fitted. Is this chainring 39t usable as replacement for the 42 tooth
Yes, this will fit, but obviously is a single ring so is not designed to shift.

Hi,

Although this was originally designed as an inner ring on a double it uses the same spaced fittings so it would work on a Brompton spider chainset.

Can I get less than 39T to fit my alfine crank?

Have a mongoose Sabrosa ocho with 39T chainring standard. Have just increased rear gear to 20T from 18T but want to lower gearing more. 20T is max available for rear so can I reduce front from 39T?
Hi, yes you can fit a 38T 130 BCD 5 Arm ring. You will require a chainring nut spanner to remove you current ring and refit the replacement. Thanks
